Arsene Wenger says he still has plenty to achieve at Arsenal, including the desire to “play football as close to perfection as possible”.
The manager is closing in on his 20th anniversary in charge of the Gunners and the club are one goal short of hitting the 2000 mark under his leadership.
There was speculation after the club’s AGM a fortnight ago that the boss could step aside when his current contract expires at the end of next season, but despite having been at the helm for almost two decades, Wenger insisted before Saturday’s trip to Swansea that he has many ambitions still to satisfy at the Emirates.
“I want to continue to develop our results and the way we play football and the club as well. I want to play football as close to perfection as possible.”
