West Brom demand £25m for Arsenal target Evans – report

Arsenal have suffered yet another setback in their pursuit of a new centre-back after West Brom demanded £25million for Jonny Evans, report the Daily Telegraph.

With Laurent Koscielny the only senior centre-half fit and available at the club, Arsene Wenger is desperate to land a new defender before the end of the transfer window.

Former Manchester United man Evans has been one name mentioned, however the Baggies are adamant they will not consider any offer under £25million.

Meanwhile, Valencia boss Pako Ayestaran insists Shkodran Mustafi is “not for sale”, meaning the Gunners could have to meet the Germany international’s £42million release clause.

And the report also suggests that Soutampton have told Jose Fonte he will not be allowed to leave the club this summer.

Arsenal are now being linked with a move for Monaco defender Marcel Tisserand, who can also cover at right-back.
