West Ham eye move for ex Man Utd man Hernandez

West Ham United are looking to land former Manchester United man Javier Hernandez in a £13m deal, according to reports.

ESPN FC claim that the Hammers are desperate to add attacking firepower to their squad this summer, and have subsequently made Hernandez their number one target.

The Mexico international, who is currently playing in the Confederations Cup in Russia, joined Leverkusen from Manchester United in 2015.

Hernandez has scored 39 goals in 76 appearances for Bayer since he arrived, but due to the club’s failure to qualify for Europe next season, they may be forced into selling the 29-year-old.

Arsenal’s Olivier Giroud, Chelsea’s Michy Batshuayi and Manchester City’s Kelechi Iheanacho have all been linked with a move to the London Stadium this summer, but West Ham are yet to sign the proven goalscorer they want.

West Ham scored just 47 Premier League goals during the 2016/17 season, ending the campaign with the worst goal difference of any team in the top 14 as they finished 11th.
