What about Juande? Hiddink confirmed…

Chelsea have confirmed the appointment of Guus Hiddink until the end of the season.

Hiddink was widely tipped to be Jose Mourinho’s replacement until the summer, when they will target a longer-term appointment. That’s unless you’re at The Times, of course, who presumably still think that Juande Ramos will get it.

Hiddink will not take charge of first-team duties for Saturday’s match against Sunderland, with Steve Holland and Eddie Newton in the dugout, taking over next week.

“I am excited to return to Stamford Bridge. Chelsea is one of the biggest clubs in the world but is not where it should be at the moment,” Hiddink said. “However, I am sure we can all turn this season around.”

“I am looking forward to working with the players and staff at this great club and especially renewing my wonderful relationship with the Chelsea fans.”
