Zamora, 34, rejoined the Seagulls this summer – 12 years after he left to join Tottenham – following his release by QPR.
The former England international was pencilled in for an appearance in Monday night’s under-21 clash with Swansea to build up his match fitness.
But Zamora has a tight groin following training this weekend, so the club say will not be risked as a precaution.
Midfielder Andrew Crofts is set to play, however, as he continues his recovery from a serious knee injury.
If Crofts, who has been sidelined since October, comes through the match unscathed he could be available for Saturday’s Championship game against Blackburn.
