Zlatan to leave Man Utd ‘this week’ – report
Zlatan Ibrahimovic is set to complete a move to Major League Soccer imminently, with Manchester United allowing him to walk away from the final three months of his contract at Old Trafford.
ESPN ‘s Mark Ogden reports that sources have revealed that Ibrahimovic will seal a transfer to MLS ‘this week’, with LA Galaxy the heavy favourites to secure the veteran striker.
The 36-year-old has netted 29 goals in 53 appearances since joining United on a free transfer upon the expiry of his contract at PSG in 2016.
Ibrahimovic was re-signed on one-year deal last summer, despite being yet to recover from a serious knee injury sustained last April. Since returning to first-team contention, his opportunities have been restricted by the signing of Romelu Lukaku.
The centre-forward has played only 137 minutes this term and has not featured in 2018.
LA Galaxy have long been discussed as Ibrahimovic’s next destination, with the former Sweden star also not ruling out returning to international duty in time for the World Cup.
