Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville believes that Zlatan Ibrahimovic will only dislodge Romelu Lukaku in the starting line-up if “the aura of Zlatan” gets to the Belgian.
Lukaku has scored 11 goals in 19 matches for the Red Devils this season but the goals have dried up recently and now Ibrahimovic’s return from injury could put pressure on the Belgium international.
Neville doubts that Lukaku will lose his place but reckons that the Swede has the potential to have a bad impact on him with his “aura”.
“I don’t see Zlatan Ibrahimovic as a threat to Lukaku at all but as a supplement,” Neville told Sky Sports.
“The only way Ibrahimovic can become number one is if the aura of Zlatan gets to Lukaku.
“Zlatan is confident but Lukaku is number one, the fans and the manager believe in him and if he does have any demons then he needs to clear them from his mind.”
