Chris Hughton: Was happy with an away point from Reading

Chances were at a premium at the Madejski as the Canaries held the Royals to make it four top-flight games undefeated in a row and Hughton was delighted to take a clean sheet away from the game.

He told Sky Sports: "I think you have to be happy with any point away from home in this division. For us every game is a tough game and they tested us today.

"They are a side that are of course looking for that win here, very direct and very physical in their game, a lot of running capacities that they've got and you've got to match all of that and I thought we did that today.

"We probably didn't play as well as I would have liked and the opportunities that perhaps we did have and the space that we did create we didn't make the most of it but away here, yes it's a decent result."

Hughton thought the Canaries defended well, adding: "They got a lot of balls into the box, we played into their hands a little bit, we gave away a few free-kicks, needless free-kicks which gave them the opportunity for the two centre-halves to get forward so I think on the basic defending I think we've done that really well.

"As the game opened up I thought we were perhaps the more likely to break away and score but it wasn't to be."
