Bale scored a sensational late equaliser for Spurs in midweek, collecting possession near the halfway line before driving forward and unleashing an unstoppable strike beyond Mark Bunn.

Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas was particularly unhappy with Tettey's attempted tackle on Bale, claiming the Canaries man could have left the Wales international with a broken ankle if he had made contact.

The Spurs boss said in the immediate aftermath of the game: "It was a great goal but he was extremely lucky to avoid Tettey's challenge, which could break his ankle. I'm extremely disappointed the referee didn't give a yellow or a red card."

But former Rennes player Tettey insists there was no malice in his challenge on Bale, who he admits is one of the leading lights in world football.

"I did my best to stop him," Tettey told the Norwich Evening News. "I tried to tackle him but he stayed on his feet and he was too fast with the ball, so what more can you do?

"It was a world class goal and that is what they have, world class players.

"Bale, he didn't do a lot in the game and only has one chance and he scores, so we have to put our hands up and say it was a great strike."

t's wrong to be making a joke out of Bender's name at the expense of gay people. It's the kind of childish, uncivilised thing that Football365 would deride and ridicule if it was another media outlet saying. Why is there a need for jokes like this? Does it make your writers feel like men? F365 might suggest that I 'lighten up', but it is genuinely traumatic for people who have been oppressed all their lives to be the butt of jokes, and to be told...

ou can't blame De Gea for wanting to leave, he has enough to do in front of goal as it is as well as taking on the role of Man Utd's version of Derek Acorah in trying to contact and organise a defence that isn't there.

f you want to take six points off Arsenal, then that's a great strike force. Can't imagine either of them showing much for the rest of the season though...
