Chris Hughton: Happy man after late turnaround

The Canaries looked to be heading for defeat after going behind to Leon Osman's first-half header but substitute Kei Kamara and skipper Grant Holt stunned the Toffees at the death.

"It is a massive result for us," said Hughton. "The fact that it's just got us over that 30-point mark is important and I think the manner in which we did it.

"We were up against a really top-class team today and they showed that in patches. They've taken the lead 1-0 and at that stage they've got the quality to go on and make things comfortable.

"But we certainly deserved to get back in the game. Whether we deserved to win the game is debatable but you've got to show drive to do that and the players certainly did.

"We had to go for the equaliser and take one or two risks which means coming off our shape a bit. At 1-1 we would have settled for that but we had a group of players that were determined to get the win and fortunately for us it came."

It was a bullet header from second-half substitute Kamara, a January loan signing from Sporting Kansas, that provided the spark for the Norwich revival and Hughton was pleased with his display.

"That's the reason why we brought him in," said the Canaries boss. "We knew he was different to what we've got. He gives us another dimension.

"He's a little bit behind everyone else given the fact that he's come in during the MLS break. How we go from here with him and whether he's ready to start we're not quite sure but it was certainly the right type of impact from him."

And it was fellow striker Holt who popped up with the winner in stoppage time after seizing onto a Sebastien Bassong knockdown and Hughton was also full of praise for the skipper.

He added: "I am delighted for Grant because irrespective of the fact he hasn't scored the goals he would like he's still our captain and he still puts in that same shift game-in game-out for us."
