Defender Forsyth and striker Martin have both earned their first call-ups after impressing for the Rams in the Sky Bet Championship this season and in the two-legged play-off semi-final victory over Brighton.

They join Derby captain Craig Bryson in Gordon Strachan's squad for the game at Fulham's Craven Cottage ground in west London.

Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths is also included in the squad while Wigan pair Gary Caldwell and Shaun Maloney are back following injury lay-offs.

Norwich duo Robert Snodgrass and Russell Martin both miss out due to injury.

Strachan had no hesitation including Forsyth and Martin, who have shone under Derby boss Steve McClaren this season, or Dundee United full-back Andrew Robertson, who has had a remarkable campaign.

"Young Craig at left-back, I think he's played every game this year. And if you get picked by Steve McClaren every game then there should be a chance of you getting picked by me," Strachan said.

"He's done very well. He's done very well for himself. A bit like Andy Robertson, he had to go away to find out exactly what he can and can't do, take a few knocks on the way and come back, and you've a very good player for a very good side.

"And Chris Martin would have been in the squad the last time. Unfortunately we couldn't get the clearance from FIFA in time."

Squad: Cammy Bell (Rangers), Matt Gilks (Blackpool), David Marshall (Cardiff), Allan McGregor (Hull); Christophe Berra (Ipswich), Gary Caldwell (Wigan), Craig Forsyth (Derby), Gordon Greer (Brighton), Grant Hanley (Blackburn), Alan Hutton (Aston Villa), Charlie Mulgrew (Celtic), Andrew Robertson (Dundee United), Steven Whittaker (Norwich); Ikechi Anya (Watford), Barry Bannan (Crystal Palace), George Boyd (Hull), Scott Brown (Celtic), Craig Bryson (Derby), Chris Burke (Birmingham), Graham Dorrans (West Brom), Darren Fletcher (Manchester United), James McArthur (Wigan), James Morrison (West Brom); Leigh Griffiths (Celtic), Shaun Maloney (Wigan), Chris Martin (Derby), Ross McCormack (Leeds), Steven Naismith (Everton).

ah, Fergie is just having another pop at Rooney. He just wants to put him down whenever he gets a chance. Rooney is by far the best English player. Carrick is not far behind, mind. However, by elevating Carrick like that, Sir is having a dig at Wayne. Fergie is well-known for mind games like that. Good to see he's still feisty.
