Alex McLeish: Refused to discuss his Forest future

McLeish, as predicted by the Scot himself, received a torrent of abuse from the home fans before kick-off, and it was simply not his day as his transfer-window target Chris Burke scored twice to sink Forest.

A late penalty from Billy Sharp could not prevent another defeat and McLeish has tasted victory just once win in his seven games in charge.

McLeish said: "I am not commenting. I only want to talk about the game. There is no meeting planned with the chairman, Fawaz Al Hasawi. He was at the training ground on Friday. That will remain private.

"There is no problem with communication but I have no wish to make any comment other than about the game.

"We have had a disappointing run but we have had to make changes every week. This is why we wanted to add players during the transfer window, to enable us to go up the table.

"But when you lose goals like we did against Birmingham it is pretty tough to watch.

"There is not a lot I can control about that, as the players have to take real responsibility and make sure they do not concede silly goals as they did against Birmingham.

"It was pretty unprofessional to concede a goal with only 45 seconds to go in the first half."
