Al-Hasawi: I won't interfere

Al-Hasawi has been accused of presiding over chaos at Forest, Davies being the third new manager he has installed since buying the club last summer.

Steve Cotterill was quickly fired and replaced by Sean O'Driscoll, who was then controversially dismissed in December.

Alex McLeish took charge but left by mutual consent on Tuesday, leading to heavy criticism of Al-Hasawi and his handling of the situation.

But Al-Hasawi told Sky Sports News: "Some people think that I, as a chairman, interfere with the manager. This is wrong. Totally wrong.

"If I interfere, I'm not going to bring in Billy Davies, because Billy Davies is a strong, tough manager. You cannot interfere with his job.

"I never interfered with Sean, I never interfered with Alex. I am the chairman and owner, I'm not the manager."

To the surprise of the Forest fans, O'Driscoll was fired just after masterminding a 4-2 win over Leeds and, now in charge at Bristol City, he will face his old team on Saturday.

"Sean did a very good job," said Al-Hasawi. "He was doing really good and a majority of the fans said 'why did you change Sean for Alex McLeish?'.

"We had a good manager but we are looking for someone who can take us to the next level."

Davies will officially take charge of Forest for the second time in his career after the trip to Ashton Gate and is confident his tenure will last longer than McLeish's.

"There's been no pressure at all," he said. "There's 16 games left this season and I've been asked to do the best I can with the squad.

"The expectation is always there for every manager, you've got to win games of football.

"I've signed a three and a half year contract and we're not just looking short term, we're looking medium to long term. The ultimate aim is to get Forest back into the Premier League."

Former coaches David Kelly, Julian Darby and Pete Williams have also returned to the club and will work alongside Davies and current assistant manager Rob Kelly.

hould have stayed because we carried him for 6.5 years. And then he has a breakthrough season, and was gone soon after. MU fans, you would be as disgusted had C Ronaldo left in 2007 and not 2009.

ood grief. Someone guessed that the form English player at the moment might be in his national side with some other players? And that's espionage? Now if they discovered that Emile Heskey was going to be in the starting line up.... at right back.... THAT would be espionage. Give it a rest Roy.
