The Nottingham Forest man only arrived in Somerset last Thursday but has taken just 155 minutes to endear himself to the Glovers' faithful.

Having scored on his debut against Watford, Miller again dominated on Tuesday night as Yeovil beat Blackpool 1-0 thanks to John Lundstrum's goal, with the Seasiders having both centre-halves sent off late on as they toiled against the on-loan striker.

Yeovil manager Gary Johnson has already suggested Everton midfielder Lundstrum could stay for the duration of the season, and has hinted the same could be said for former Manchester City forward Miller.

"How Ishmael Miller didn't score I don't know," he told the Western Gazette. "He deserved a goal as he was fantastic and he gave us that presence up front.

"We kept him on for 90 minutes and he'll be pleased with that because he's pushed himself as he knew he wasn't really ready for it.

"I don't mind him being trouble as long as he's trouble to the opposition defenders. He's not trouble, he's as meek as a mouse.

"He wants to get his football going, he's been fantastic in the dressing room already, he's been a real pro and he talks to people and I'm sure the other lads are very happy to have him in the team at the moment because he has got that experience of this level and the level above.

"Hopefully it won't take long until he's back at his best because when he is then hey ho, silver lining."

Sharper

Johnson expressed his gratitude to Forest manager Billy Davies for allowing them to have Miller on loan but the Yeovil boss expects the decision on an extension will come down to the player.

"Billy Davies was good enough to allow us to take him, he knows we've got to do a little bit of work with him," he added.

"He's come to us to concentrate on his football so he will be doing a lot of work on the training field to get even sharper. He looks sharp enough at the moment and if we can get him even sharper he will win us more games.

"It will be down to Ishmael, really if he stays. He's come here to get his football going and I think he's enjoying two games, two wins and one goal."

Back-to-back wins have elevated Yeovil to within two points of safety and Saturday's visitors Charlton Athletic and Johnson believes the stage is set for a compelling encounter.

"It sets it up lovely but Charlton will be aware of that as well and nothing less than the effort we put on the pitch and what we put out from the stands will be sufficient," Johnson said.

"This is what we wanted, this situation to be within a couple of points of the team we are playing on Saturday. We know the two teams below us won, which shows us how important this level is.

"The teams below us are good teams but we've got our sights on Charlton, Millwall and a few other teams that are now a couple of points away from us. That didn't look very clever a couple of weeks ago. We've got back to back wins and now we've got to see how far we can go on that run."
