Ferguson: Praise for Gordon-Hutton

The 17-year-old's inclusion against Hull at the expense of Kane Ferdinand, who began Saturday's 1-1 home draw on the bench, was the only change made by Ferguson following the previous weekend's defeat at Nottingham Forest.

Gordon-Hutton did not look out of place against the Championship promotion chasers.

The teenager impressed with his strength and power, but he sent two decent goalscoring opportunities wide of goal.

Ferguson said: "I felt the time was right to throw Jaanai into the side. His size and strength means he has more chance than most players of his age to make an impact in the Championship.

"And he did well enough. He missed a couple of chances, but he earned those chances with his pace and strength.

"There's no doubt that he's going to be a very good player for the club."
