Derry: Looking for revenge

Derry: Looking for revenge

With their grounds situated just three miles apart, the match is all about local bragging rights in the Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham.

Rangers slumped to a 6-0 defeat in the reverse fixture back in October and Derry says the players are desperate to make amends.

Derry told the Fulham Chronicle: "That was embarrassing for the players and the fans. It was our worst performance of the season.

"No one wants to lose like that, especially to your local rivals, but we're a completely different team now."

Bobby Zamora could be in for an interesting reception from the visiting fans after making the move to QPR on deadline and Derry is happy to have the England striker on his side this time round.

The 34-year-old added: "Bobby was the outstanding player on the pitch when we played Fulham earlier in the season.

"He was a real handful for our defence, so hopefully he can have the same impact for us at the weekend."

QPR will be desperate for the points after a run of just one win in their last 10 games has seen them slip towards the drop zone.

Derry said: "We need to start picking up points because we're in a run of games where we face all of the sides around us."

t's a bit sad to see Bosingwa leaving after he finally seemed to show some defensive ability when moved to centre back against Barca, but at least we'll be forced to pick up some sort of right fullback as cover. His new haircut seemed to decrease the prominence of the monobrow too.

ou realise this means he'll have more free time to tweet, appear on newsnight, and google philosphers... ban seems about right, but there will never be consistency from the FA, so that completely undermines any possible lesson to the kids. Apart from the lesson about being part of an important cash cow.
