McEachran: Still working his way to full match fitness

McEachran, who joined Swansea on loan from Chelsea during the January transfer window, made his first start in the defeat by Norwich two weeks ago.

The England Under-21 international is hoping to keep his place in the side for this weekend's trip to Stoke and he is confident he will produce his best once he reaches peak fitness.

"It's good to get my first start in the league, now hopefully I can go on," McEachran told the South Wales Evening Post.

"Norwich was only my second 90 minutes in two or three months.

"It was hard to get into it because my fitness is not 100 per cent but I thought I did okay.

"The training intensity is really good at Swansea so I hope to get fit through that, then in a few more matches I'll be up to speed."

McEachran is hoping Swansea can bounce back from their home defeat by Norwich with victory at Stoke.

"It's unfortunate we lost against Norwich. I thought we played well in some parts of the game so it's disappointing," added McEachran.

"I thought the team did well and I thought I did well.

"But we have to forget about that now and focus on the next game."

t's a bit sad to see Bosingwa leaving after he finally seemed to show some defensive ability when moved to centre back against Barca, but at least we'll be forced to pick up some sort of right fullback as cover. His new haircut seemed to decrease the prominence of the monobrow too.

ou realise this means he'll have more free time to tweet, appear on newsnight, and google philosphers... ban seems about right, but there will never be consistency from the FA, so that completely undermines any possible lesson to the kids. Apart from the lesson about being part of an important cash cow.
