Zdenek Grygera: Returning to training in a bid to earn a new deal at Craven Cott

Grygera, 32, is currently out of contract after his deal expired at Craven Cottage but boss Martin Jol is willing to give the defender a chance to prove his fitness.

The Czech Republic international damaged his anterior cruciate ligament just five games into his Fulham career and has not played since, but after almost 12 months out he hopes to earn a new deal with the London club.

With 65 international caps and the likes of Juventus and Ajax as former employers, he boasts a wealth of experience and his return to training is a welcome boost for Cottagers manager Jol.

"I don't want to make decisions on him yet because it's not easy for him," Jol told the Fulham & Hammersmith Chronicle.

"He had quite a bad injury, came back and got injured again. Hopefully he will be back but we have to wait and see."
