Sebastien Bassong: Has been in exceptional form in Norwich's recent resurgen

The Cameroonian centre-back has proved an inspired signing for the Canaries and scored his second goal in three games to help earn Chris Hughton's side a hard-fought victory over Sunderland last weekend.

The win extended their unbeaten run to eight league games, and Bassong highlighted the importance of regular football to his fine form.

"It makes a big difference for a player, especially somebody like me and my body," he said speaking on Talksport.

"I need to play week in, week out to get the best out of me.

"I've no regrets about leaving Tottenham. I am enjoying my time here and the results are good for us. The people around me at the club, the fans as well are lovely, so I am really happy to be here. I hope I can keep on scoring and helping to win games for Norwich."

Bassong went on to allay any fears that he picked up a knee injury against the Wearsiders following a nasty-looking collision with Sunderland's Connor Wickham.

"I'm okay. I just damaged my knee a bit when I went shoulder to shoulder with Wickham," he said.

"He is a big lad so I had to go quite strong and when I landed my knee twisted a little bit but I knew I was going to be okay to finish the game. I've had a bit of treatment. We knew it would be tough in the second half.
