James McClean: Confident he can recapture his best form

The Republic of Ireland international is determined not to be known as a 'one-season wonder' having so far failed to hit the heights of last term.

McClean had a sensational campaign last season, but so far things have not gone as well this term, although this week did see him score his first goal in eight months in the 3-0 win over Reading.

"I can turn it around and get back to where I was. I want to top last season's performance," he said.

"A lot of attention comes my way on the pitch compared to when I first broke through and no-one had heard of me.

"I could play with a bit more freedom then but now they know what to expect from me.

"It's down to me to get back to the levels I was at last season and maybe I can do that with the help around me but it's mainly down to myself."
