Clarke has enjoyed an excellent start to his first managerial role and currently has West Brom in sixth position ahead of Sunday's game against West Ham United.
And the Scot does not intend to disrupt the momentum and harmony that has been built in the first half of the season by wading into the transfer market in the New Year.
"I don't think it's a good time for business," said Clarke. "It's a month you can use if needed. But I'm hopeful that we will not use the transfer window at all.
"I've got a really good squad of players here and if I'm left with that squad the other side of January, then I'll be happy."
Clarke's priority may prove to be fending off interest in his players, with the likes of Shane Long having been linked with other clubs following West Brom's impressive form.
