Martin Jol: Says he will be staying at Fulham beyond the summer

Dutchman Jol signed a two-year deal with the club when he replaced Mark Hughes at the Craven Cottage helm in the summer of 2011.

Fulham have not formally announced that Jol will be staying beyond the end of this season, but he insists his future has been sorted.

"They took that option, so that was it from their side," he said in the Daily Star.

Jol is focused on trying to strengthen his squad before the end of January but does not want to spend too heavily and recognises that he will have to be creative.

He added: "Top players won't come to Fulham as they will do well for their own clubs.

"So we have to pay over the odds and we can't do that and we won't do that. You have to wait for the odd surprise.

"We want to strengthen the squad but the market is not a good one.

"We get all the players that are not doing well and you have to take them when they are struggling.

"We want to be like pioneers and adventurers but it's not easy.

"We don't have the resources of Chelsea so we have to do our job properly to get these players."

m starting to think Roman may never actually be happy at the top level. If he wants all conquering fancy football I wonder if he'd be better off buying a lower division side then paying outlandish salaries to attract high caliber players too good for the division.
