Cristian Cuevas: O'Higgins claim Chelsea are in talks for the midfielder

The Chile Under 20 international is reported to have had a trial with Chelsea towards the end of last year and the Premier League club have seemingly followed up their interest.

Reports in Chile say that Chelsea have offered $2.6million (£2.2m) for the 17-year-old, with O'Higgins rumoured to want $4million (£3.4m) before agreeing to a sale.

O'Higgins' sporting director Cristian Abumohor believes discussions are at an advanced stage and is waiting to see if an agreement can be reached.

"There was interest some time ago and this interest was reactivated a few weeks ago," Abumohor told Radio Bio Bio.

"The talks are advanced but not finalised yet. We are still discussing some points."
