Fabio Borini: Linked with a move back to Italy with Fiorentina

The Serie A club are looking for a new forward ahead of next season and have been linked with a number of players, including Borini and Pablo Osvaldo of Roma.

Borini, who is currently sidelined with a shoulder injury, has struggled to make an impact at Anfield since his arrival last summer.

Fiorentina sporting director Daniele Prade has refused to rule anything out, although he is not sure if Roma would sell Osvaldo to a domestic rival and is realistic about their chances of landing Borini.

He told Radio Toscana admits: "We seek a striker with a hunger for goals in their DNA, a player who lives for the goal.

"We like Fabio Borini, but it's hard to see that Liverpool will let him go.

"Osvaldo? I don't think Roma would reinforce a direct competitor like us, but you must never say that a deal is impossible, even if now it's cheaper to buy players abroad."

Prade has also revealed that Fiorentina are working hard behind the scenes on a new deal for Adem Ljajic, who has been a key player for the club over the past couple of seasons.

"This is a time of great growth for him, both as a player and as a man," said Prade.

"His contract with Fiorentina expires in 2014, but we have talked for two months with his agent to extend it."

Then you need to sign someone else who might also be a flop. Rodgers and the scouts (as well as fiorentina) have seen something in him. Wait and see what happens when he is fit and has a run of games.

m starting to think Roman may never actually be happy at the top level. If he wants all conquering fancy football I wonder if he'd be better off buying a lower division side then paying outlandish salaries to attract high caliber players too good for the division.

afa has to be favourite for the Everton job now, surely :) He'll realise his ambition to live and work on Merseyside again, get the best out of whoever plays for them, maybe win some cups and be thoroughly loathed by the toffee fans. What's not to like? Go ead, Ken, gimajob!
