Rangers are seven points adrift of safety following their 2-0 defeat to Premier League leaders Manchester United on Saturday.

However, Redknapp's side have a run of fixtures against other teams also battling to avoid the drop and Fernandes remains confident the Londoners can retain their top flight status.

Responding to a number of supporters who questioned whether he and Redknapp would still be at QPR next season, Fernandes wrote on Twitter: "I am optimistic as ever.

"I'm still smiling. It's the next 8 games. Lots of good things. Good chat with Harry on the future come what may. We know what we have to do. Many points to play for.

"I'm responsible for this mess ultimately. I have heard the fans and I will stay and fix it. I really love QPR. We can sort this out.

"Not sure how many times I can pledge. I'm pledging. Ain't going anywhere as long as the fans want me."

"As long as the fans want me." I can see the next stage. "I am being booed, the fans didn't want me anymore, i had no choice but to move on."
