"At Portsmouth, I had a crap team and we got 20 points in the last 10 games and stayed up. It ain't impossible." Stay classy Harry. You and YOUR crap team has pushed the club to the brink of extinction. I hope when QPR slide into oblivion you do too.

@Heathy, I know that Giggs could never really be arsed playing for his country, but his appearances for Wales do count as official games nonetheless.

I sometimes wonder, instead of spending 30m on a new winger for Giggs and a playmaker for Scholes, can the same money be used towards the manufacture of a youth elixir? A sip a year for Scholes and Giggs would do just well. No? Then how about perfecting a cloning research? No? #twoofakind

As much as I admire Giggs who will not just be a Man United legend but a football legend, I have to agree with FairyNuff on this one. He's made 931 appearances. Including all the knock about games and five a sides etc is a nonsense and only for sensational lazy journalism. You wouldn't do it for others so why Giggs? Does it just make the stats look good? 931 will probably not be beaten in the modern era anyway so can't we just go with proper facts?

@Fairynuff The equivalent in cricket would be first class matches. They are including his internationals for Wales and G.B. On the main point, if I am any of United's opponents at the moment, I am worried about RVP, I am worried about the defense's and keeper's improved form, I am worried about the number of players who can score goads, I am worried about Michael Carrick's form as a playmaker. HOWEVER, I would be terrified of an in-form Giggsy. Because this player has shown over his extraordinary career how when he is on form, he can sweep all before him.

It includes 64 games for Wales, and 4 games for Great Britain.

Where is all this 999th game crap coming from? Giggs has played 931 "official" games for Man Utd. Adding in random friendlies just to make-up a good number is just being silly - the kind of rubbish you expect from the Star or Sun.
