m curious as to what image Real Madrid are trying to re-establish as I always thought their pre-Jose image was one of a bunch of a classless bullies tapping up whoever they wanted while living it large on borrowed money they're never going to pay back.

timp (Aston Villa) says...
There is a horrible sense of inevitability regarding Villa's likely drop. All the mood music is there with players bigging themselves up, taking encouragement from small crumbs of comfort as the Captain of the ship steers a steady course toward the rocks and oblivion issuing increasingly desperate rallying calls. Relegation will be the ultimate and foreseeable result of O Neills sudden departure - he clearly could see the writing on the wall when Lerner and Faulkner lost their nerve and stepped away from the ambitious future he had mapped out. Since then, nothing but mediocrity and a steady slide down the table.
