Lordy... can you imagine the outcry if this was United and not Wigan... all the jealous fans would be out in force, saying stuff like "oh one rule for United adn another for the rest of us..." and "Fergie's such a bully"... well it wasn't us and it's what happens in todays game, so United don't get any special treatment liek you Chavski and Kopshite fans might love to dream about...

What a load of politically correct rubbish from most. The game is played at speed and it was a dopey tackle from a young lad. Not good on any level but it wasn't murder and by the looks of it, wasn't intentional (unless someone can prove they had a nark on between each other). Before the whole world explodes in a world of rage, Whelan's career was ended by a pretty awful but completely accidental challenge as well so I guess he's in a better place than all of us to comment on it. That being said it still is a pretty stupid comment and lets just leave it at that.
