The Belgium international spent last season on loan with West Brom and demonstrated his top-flight credentials with an impressive return of 17 goals from 35 Premier League outings.

The talented 20-year-old is keen to be in action regularly to secure his place with Belgium ahead of the World Cup in Brazil next summer.

With the identity of Chelsea's new manager still to be officially confirmed, despite Mourinho being the red-hot favourite, Lukaku wants to hold talks with the new man before deciding his next move.

"I want to play as much as possible," Lukaku told reporters.

"I want to have a good World Cup so need to be ready.

"Chelsea? It depends on Mourinho, if he takes over, and what he has to say."
