The 29-year old made 30 appearances for the Toffees last season but it remains unclear as to whether he will feature in the plans of new manager Roberto Martinez.

Heitinga has one year remaining on his contract at Everton and he admitted that he is likely to be moving on.

"I've had my worst season since I joined," he said.

"I don't want to extend my contract because it would mean they'd be my final club outside Holland.

"I have played in Spain and England, so maybe it's time for somewhere else."
