The Bosnia international has been strongly linked with a move away from Italy this summer, with Tottenham Hotspur among those reported to have been monitoring his situation for some time.

Barca are the latest side to be linked with an approach, with it suggested that the Catalan giants are prepared to part with €11million (£9.4m) for Pjanic's services.

The 23-year-old is, however, prepared to remain in Serie A for now, with Roma hoping for an upturn in fortunes under new coach Rudi Garcia.

He is not expected to push for a move away from the Italian capital when the transfer window re-opens, with the former Lyon man happy in his current surroundings and turning a deaf ear to the ongoing rumours regarding his future.

"Miralem is concentrated solely on Roma," Pjanic's representative, Michele Gerbino, told calciomercato.it.

"He is very happy with the Giallorossi and has the utmost respect for the club, so I am convinced they will continue together with reciprocal satisfaction.

"As for the interest from Barcelona, I haven't heard anything about that and have personally not received any calls.

"There are no imminent meetings with Roma either, as we must first give the new coach time to arrive and get to know the players."

t's why Mourinho is so successful. He gives players a specific, limited set of functions to perform. They are but a cog in a machine. Do no more, do no less. I assume he learnt it from LvG :)

really hope that someone in the mainstream media spots that the Bayern manager played for and managed Barcelona quite well, and thinks to mention it in the build up. That would be really interesting.
