The Argentine switched from Roma in the summer in a deal worth around £30million.

Lamela has featured just four times and is yet to start a Premier League match, and the 21-year-old concedes that he needs to 'adapt' as soon as he can.

Lamela also admits that he needs to prove himself for the sake of both his Spurs career and and international future.

"English football is much more physical while the game is more tactical in Italy," he is quoted by Clarin.

"I have been talking a lot with my team-mates and I know that I have to adapt as quickly as possible if I want to ensure my place in the team and at the national team."
