The Wales international is enjoying a stand-out campaign for the Gunners, scoring 13 goals as Arsene Wenger's men climbed to the top of the Premier League table.

The 22-year-old has come full circle since facing an uncertain future due to inconsistent displays, having returned to full fitness after a potential career-threatening double leg break at Stoke in February 2010.

"I had a few conversations with the boss and with my family and just went back to playing the way that I knew I could - getting stuck in again," Ramsey said in an interview with Ian Wright on his Absolute Radio Rock 'N' Roll Football Show to be broadcast at 5pm on Saturday.

"I had to overcome the mental side of what I was going through.

"It was really difficult for me, but you just have to keep trying to believe in yourself and your ability, and that you will show everybody what you are capable of in the end.

"It will all just click into place and then well you sort of just forget how it was before.

"Hopefully now I have changed a lot of people's opinion again."

Ramsey is revelling in his role at the heartbeat of the Arsenal midfield, which includes the likes of club-record signing Mesut Ozil, England's Jack Wilshere and Spain international Santi Cazorla.

"It is going really well for me at the moment," added Ramsey.

"You know I am really pleased with the way I am playing and the team is playing.

"Hopefully we can just continue that because you know our form after Christmas has been good over the last few seasons, so hopefully we can get ourselves in that position where we are in a good position to carry on."

t's a bloody good goal, though. Sh!t, the kid's gonna be the worlds best before we know it, isn't he? He's got the touch of genius in him. Like Neymar, but with muscles and stuff. He's doing a Ronaldo as we watch. He's bulked up to be able to ride the tackles, but he's improved technically as well. His touch is sublime. Bugger.
