Liverpool are locked in talks with Lille over a deal that will see the striker loaned back to the Ligue 1 side next season.

The 19-year-old, who impressed at this summer's World Cup finals, is due to fly to America this week for a medical with Liverpool - as they are currently on a pre-season training camp in Boston.

"The deal isn't done yet. Liverpool is still the most concrete option," Mike Origi told Mediahuis.

"There's another team that shows interest. We want to take a decision soon. On Monday, Divock is expected back at for their first training session.

"We would like to have everything wrapped before that day."

Dannyjohnson - By your reckoning, then, there are a lot of players at the World Cup who won't make the grade based on their performances but they have already made the grade. I hope that the club haven't decided to buy him solely on his World Cup performances but the price is reasonable and he is young. Overall, I thought he had a decent tournament and was better than average in most of his appearances.
