The Clarets have already brought in six players over the summer - Marvin Sordell (from Bolton), Matt Gilks (from Blackpool), Matt Taylor (from West Ham) and Steven Reid (from West Brom) arriving on free transfers, as well as Lukas Jutkiewicz (£2.5m from Middlesbrough) and Michael Kightly (undisclosed from Stoke).
However, with Burnley hoping to defy the odds and avoid an immediate return to the Sky Bet Championship, Dyche is aware he will need as many quality recruits as he can find and is in 'protracted' negotiations over further arrivals.
When asked about new signings, Dyche said: "There are a few things ongoing at the moment.
"They are longer term processes than we expected but sometimes that's the nature of it. We can't just throw money around willy nilly - we have to be careful with it and wise with it.
"Things are a little bit protracted but there are a couple of things we think will fall into place so we're still working on them."
Burnley open their Premier League campaign on August 18 with a daunting fixture at home to Chelsea.
