Fernandes: No January influx

QPR owner Tony Fernandes has ruled out further big signings in January despite the club still struggling to produce their first Premier League win of the season.

QPR's early-season form has been a headache for owner Tony Fernandes

QPR's early-season form has been a headache for owner Tony Fernandes

Fernandes opened his cheque book over the summer to bring a host of names to Loftus Road - most notably forking out £9m to snare playmaker Esteban Granero from Real Madrid.

Manager Mark Hughes has thus far failed to find a winning formula, and the Rs were forced to come from behind for a 1-1 draw with fellow top-flight new boys Reading on Sunday.

But despite the prospect of a relegation battle, Fernandes will not throw money at the problem.

He told Sky Sports: "I think we've got a good enough squad. We've made a lot of changes and brought in a lot of players over the last three transfer windows.

"We may trade a little bit like other clubs but just like the manager needs stability, so the players need stability. They need to play with eachother and get to know eachother better.

"There may be one or two (signings) but it will be like a traditional club - a little bit of business rather than a massive amount of business like we've done in the past.

"We were a rebuilding club but I think we've done that now. I've done whatever I can to put QPR in the right place and it's now down to the manager and the players to perform. I'm sure they will."

And Fernandes has again insisted he is fully behind under-fire manager Hughes.

"I have complete faith in Mark Hughes and we have a great squad, we just need to hold out for that stability and I'm sure things are going to go right," he said.

"It's been one of those frustrating seasons for us but I'm keeping the faith and keeping calm. It's not a time to panic."
