Spurs enjoyed over 60 per cent possession but were repelled by a stern defensive effort from the hosts and some outstanding saves by Julio Cesar.

"That was a fantastic performance," said Rangers manager Redknapp. "That was just as good as the performance we produced against Chelsea. We worked our socks off against a top team and I can't ask for any more than that."

QPR goalkeeper Cesar produced fine stops in the early stages of both halves, the best a stunning double save to deny both Jermain Defoe and Emmanuel Adebayor.

"He didn't have that many saves to make but the couple of ones he did make were fantastic. He's a world class goalkeeper," said Redknapp.

"I thought we worked hard all over the park today and I can't ask for more than that against a team that has been murdering other teams of late. They had a lot of possession but we restricted them to very few opportunities."

Redknapp revealed that he is hopeful of bringing in Jake Livermore on loan, while also confirming the club have made a bid for West Brom's Peter Odemwingie.

"Odemwingie's a player I like so we wanted to see if there was any chance West Brom would be prepared to sell him," he said.

"We've made an enquiry but I've no idea how far it's gone."

On Livermore, he said: "Hopefully Jake can come in and join us on loan. He would be a good acquisition. He's a good lad and obviously he can play."

Ryan Nelsen put in another solid display in defence, and Redknapp admitted he did not know how many more games the New Zealander would play for the club before taking up his new role as Toronto FC coach.

He said: "I'm not sure how many games we'll get out of him now, but hopefully plenty before he goes."

suspect the review will conclude that Iago Aspas should never have been loaned out. Two hat-tricks in two Copa Del Rey games. One might say he has really turned a corner.
