The west Londoners' survival chances suffered a huge setback at the weekend as they were beaten 3-2 by fellow strugglers Villa, with Christian Benteke scoring a late decider.
That result leaves QPR seven points adrift of safety with eight matches remaining, but on-loan Tottenham winger Townsend has pledged not to give up.
"After Fulham, we've got Wigan - another six-pointer," he told the club's official website.
"We've just got to keep going, persevering, and hopefully we can pull through.
"It's not over yet. We've got eight games left and have got to play our other relegation rivals. It's all to play for, still. It was a setback, but we're not giving up."
