Harriman goes straight into Allen's squad for his side's Capital One Cup first-round tie at home to Bristol City on Tuesday night.

The Irishman has made three appearances for the R's including a starting berth in the final game of last season away at Liverpool as Harry Redknapp's relegated side waved goodbye to the Premier League.

Harriman had spent the second half of last term on loan at Wycombe, lining up against the Gills in their 1-0 win at Priestfield at the start of February.
