Pardew: Remy 'hot property'

After seeing Loic Remy net another important goal for Newcastle United, Alan Pardew concedes it may be difficult to land the striker permanently.

The France international linked up with the Magpies last summer on a season-long loan agreement from Queens Park Rangers.

A bright start to his time on Tyneside quickly endeared him to the Toon Army and led to calls for a full-time deal to be struck.

Both Remy and Newcastle have endured fluctuations in form since then, but the 27-year-old was back among the goals on Sunday to snatch a 1-0 win over Aston Villa and take his Premier League tally for the campaign on to 12.

Magpies boss Pardew would welcome the opportunity to nail down the services of a proven marksman, but admits that he is likely to become embroiled in a transfer tug-of-war.

There is no guarantee that QPR will want to sell, especially if they secure an immediate return to the top flight, while various other clubs are likely to join the chase if Remy ends the season on a high and shines at the 2014 World Cup.

On his chances of getting a deal done, Pardew said shortly after Remy's last-minute winner against Villa: "He is going to be hot property and will get a lot of headlines.

"His goals could make it harder to buy him. Perhaps I will leave him out of the next 11 games!

"The quality players can slow the game down - he can do that.

"His all-round game was terrific. The game seemed a little bit slower when he was on the ball. Not as frantic.

"Remy was the one player to have that composure to score that goal. He was the best player on the pitch."

Pardew also saluted skipper Fabricio Coloccini after seeing him return from injury to lead Newcastle to a precious victory.

The 32-year-old Argentina international, who had missed seven games with a knee problem, played the full 90 minutes with Pardew admitting it was a close decision to being him back.

Pardew said: "He wasn't really ready, if I am honest. We had a few balls down that channel where I think we were a bit uncomfortable bearing in mind that he has only trained for eight days or nine days.

"But we have worked really hard with him. I spoke to him all week and his presence was everything today.

"If he was going to be a little bit uncomfortable with some of their pace, we would have to accept that.

"But the result justifies the means because the clean sheet, he was a big part of.

"Just his calmness - we were very erratic with the ball today, very nervous, which I expected. But not him. He never gets himself into that mode."

All Platini is doing is making billionaries pay measly fines, so he and his cronies can get rich. If a fool can pay 50 mil for David Luiz, he will happily pay some fine to UEFA. FFP has failed as for it to succeed UEFA had to take it...
