The Argentinian has suffered two cruciate knee injuries already but despite revealing concerns over his fitness, Redknapp is keen to secure the playmaker's services.

A number of players have struggled to make a full recovery and re-establish themselves after successive knee injuries and the QPR boss cited Bolton's Stuart Holden as a recent unfortunate victim.

"I hope not, but look at Holden, the boy at Bolton - he's done his knee again," Redknapp said.

"He [Holden] had just come back. He'd been out now for about two years and he was a smashing player.

"It's very difficult, but hopefully Ale will come back fine - he's strong and a good lad with a good attitude. We'll wait and see."

Despite admitting his fitness fears, Redknapp revealed he is already in talks with chief executive Phil Beard over extending 27-year-old Faurlin's stay at Loftus Road.

"I spoke to Phil this week about giving him another contract," he added.

"We believe in him. He was playing fantastic before he got injured. If anyone will come back, he will."

Faurlin, who joined Rangers from Argentinian side Insituto in 2009, is out of contract come the end of the season.

h ha ha, excellent. Let's hope he goes on the run. Then they hunt piggy down for scoffing all the apples. At least he's done something right - he has united football fans, regardless of who they support, against FIFA and all those at the top who have been bleeding the game for their own means and giving nothing back.

till reckon Chelsea will go for Khedira as back up for Matic. I think it will turn out to be quite a Mourihno-y window: We'll see the squad players and youth in action pre-season, say things like well, we need not buy anybody and then the club will bid £60m for Pogba and send everybody on loan.

would love to be a fly on the wall at the meeting between Milner and Rodgers. I don't know if flies can count, but if they can then I would be counting the number of times Rodgers used the word outstanding in his attempts to get Milner to sign.
