Sutherland sustained cruciate knee ligament damage during a loan spell at Leyton Orient in November but he was back running just four months after surgery.

Now the 20-year-old is back in full training, four months ahead of schedule, and he is hoping to be able to give Harry Redknapp a welcome boost to his squad.

With the transfer window now shut, Sutherland is hoping that he can make an impact for Rangers, who look set to battle it out in the Championship play-offs.

Sutherland is yet to make his first-team debut for Rangers, but was handed a squad number by Redknapp last summer and is now hoping he will get the chance to use it.

"It has been the toughest few months of my football career for me but the manager and club have been fantastic with me," Sutherland told Sky Sports.

"I just want to repay everyone for their hard work and support, particularly the fans.

"As a boyhood QPR fan it would feel great to help them get back to the Premier League."

irst Townsend, now Chiles. What next ITV? Comedy that you can actually watch without vomiting up your own spleen? I'll be sad to see Matt Smith go though. I actually quite like him. Plus, he was good in Doctor Who.

wful, awful pundit. He was crap on BBC, and offered a little more analysis than Robbie Savage - apart from the delivery of banality in a sexy accent. Also, as I'm Irish he'll never be more then a slimy, hand-balling f**ker in my eyes.
