Rangers' 15-goal top scorer started his first game since dislocating his shoulder in January as Rangers consolidated their place in the top six with a 5-2 win over Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
"I've had a couple of sub appearances but nothing can compare to starting a game so it was good to be back out there with the lads again," he said.
"When you come on as a sub you have to make an impact which can be hard whereas I was able to feel my way into it on Saturday and that helped me put in a good shift.
"My confidence will only come in games. Training is okay but to start gives you that buzz along with winning games.
"Goals will come for me but the main thing is we won the game and I got another 75 minutes under my belt. We now need to start a run and get some momentum going into the play-offs."
