¿I see people getting involved in coaching England¿s younger teams; I ask myself whether they want to play football and I¿m not sure they are.¿ He is referring to John Beck, yes for those of you who have not heard of the way John Army Boss Beck had his teams set up to play the game with the basic goal of hoof it and keep the ball in the air as long as possible, John has been employed by the England FA to coach youngsters around the country. A quick google search will tell you lots of stories from his Cambridge United days and requesting that the grass is not cut.

Germany went around the world, taking in the best of what they saw and developed their own methodology, a continous process that has taken over a decade. Meanwhile Guardiola said Spain's tiki taka was based on Dutch Total Football. Redknapp is wrong to suggest we have nothing to learn from the rest of the world (oh so very wrong). But he's right that we shouldn't just copy every winning team without thinking about context and what approach would suit us best.
