Remy scored 14 goals in 26 Premier League appearances on loan at Newcastle from Queens Park Rangers last season and has been linked with a return to St James’ Park.

The France international’s proposed move to Liverpool collapsed last week after Remy reportedly failed a medical and Pardew subsequently confirmed he would monitor the situation.

However, Pardew has suggested it could now be time for Newcastle to draw a line through their chances of re-signing Remy.

"We've not really had much contact with Loic and I don't see that evolving, if I'm honest," said Pardew.

"Whatever happened at Liverpool is irrelevant really, because he's had plenty of chances to come to us.

"We've made it clear we'd want to have him but it hasn't really happened and therefore you sometimes have to say where is the line drawn for us as a club as we have our own respect and our own professionalism.

"So maybe that one has gone away but like all transfers they're never, ever over so we'll keep our finger on the pulse."

Pardew, though, is eager to finalise a deal to take Ferreyra on loan from Shakhtar Donetsk, adding: "It's something that is not done, but we're working to see if that can happen.

"Facundo is a good presence on the pitch, a big guy at 6ft 2in, a player who has gone to the Ukraine and has been OK.

"If we manage to secure him, he would be a player who we'd expect to do a lot better here."

ove it when Jose accuses others of being defensive, cynical and playing to win. If I was Wenger, I'd get that quote laminated and framed - surely the biggest compliment he's ever received from Mourinho. You've got him riled Arsene - you're relevant again!

t's wrong to be making a joke out of Bender's name at the expense of gay people. It's the kind of childish, uncivilised thing that Football365 would deride and ridicule if it was another media outlet saying. Why is there a need for jokes like this? Does it make your writers feel like men? F365 might suggest that I 'lighten up', but it is genuinely traumatic for people who have been oppressed all their lives to be the butt of jokes, and to be told...

ou can't blame De Gea for wanting to leave, he has enough to do in front of goal as it is as well as taking on the role of Man Utd's version of Derek Acorah in trying to contact and organise a defence that isn't there.
