Ross Perry: No letting up from Rangers

Rangers have only dropped two points since losing to Stirling Albion on October 6, when they were initially struggling away from home, and started the weekend 19 points clear.

And Perry is keen to ensure the late equaliser by Elgin earlier this month is the last blow of the season despite the increasingly inevitable nature of the title contest.

The Scotland Under-21 cap, who is hoping to overcome an ankle injury to face Peterhead at Balmoor on Sunday, told his club's official website: "I don't think complacency ever comes into it. We're all professionals and you go into a game of football wanting to win it.

"It doesn't matter how many points clear you are. That sort of thing never comes into your head.

"Obviously the Elgin game was a disappointment for us recently and while these things happen, we want to make sure there are no slips like that.

"We're looking to win every game we take part in as Rangers players and that is something which will never change. That's always the case."

Perry played in the 4-2 win over Berwick last weekend despite breaking his nose against Elgin seven days earlier.

The 22-year-old said: "My broken nose was a really sore one but I managed to play last week without it troubling me.

"I then got a bang towards the end of the game with Berwick on my ankle and it has caused me a bit of trouble.

"I haven't trained properly so far this week but it seems to be healing up nicely and hopefully I'll be ready for the game.

"They say these things come in threes so I'm not looking forward to whatever the third thing is.

"I've been told throughout my whole career and by my papa since I was a wee boy that you can't be a pretty centre half."

Lee McCulloch, Kevin Kyle and Darren Cole are sidelined through injury but Ian Black returns after suspension.
