Compare and contrast - in 2011, Spartans FC were fined £4,000 (representing 25% of the annual turnover) and kicked out of the Scottish Cup having been determined to have fielded an ineligible player in a single game of that competition. The crime? A player's new contract was dated only once on the paperwork, rather than the required twice. Now, that would look to all like a financial and sporting sanction. Between 2000 and 2011, Rangers (IL) have been found guilty of a deliberate and systematic failure to disclose all player related payments within their paperwork submitted to the SPL and SFA - encompassing countless games across multiple competitions. Their punishment? A £250k fine levied against an entity that no longer exists (and let no-one tell you any different, that its a company not the club etc, they're dead, end of story!). I can't say how much of their annual turnover it represents as they've not submitted audited accounts for some time but if they had it would be nowhere near 25%!! And no sporting sanction.... Hmmmmmmm. Nothing to see here...move along.

Whitewash! A fine that will never be paid as punishment for holding dual contracts. ''The commision confirmed their earlier decision that newco Rangers could not be held responsible for any breach of rules by the oldco''. But will all concerned drop the facade that 'The Rangers' are not a brand new club with zero titles? Hell no.
