The Royals are rock-bottom of the table ahead of Saturday's trip to the defending champions and have lost their last six games on the bounce.

Pogrebnyak knows manager Brian McDermott needs to find a solution and believes the journey to the Etihad Stadium will be a daunting one.

"Maybe I'm influenced by my emotions but we're a bit afraid of travelling to Manchester," the Russian told Sovsport.ru. "At least I'm (afraid).

"I hope we don't concede 10 goals (on Saturday). I hope our manager will find something."

The 29-year-old frontman acknowledges the Royals, who lost 5-2 at home to Arsenal on Monday night, have not been playing well and feels something has to be done.

"Is it time for a change? As I see the situation it's high time for a change and it has been for a long time but it's not me who should be targeted with this question," he said.

"Not only on Monday but we've been playing badly for a long time.

"But we don't give up the fight. Unfortunately we haven't been able to show more than this so far."
