The Royals moved off the bottom of the table with a goalless stalemate against Boxing Day visitors Swansea.

It was their first point in eight top-flight matches and Le Fondre, 26, hopes the draw can kickstart their campaign.

Norwich failed to win any of their opening seven matches before a home win against Arsenal started a 10-match unbeaten run and turned their season around.

"The draw against Swansea was a good building block for us," said Le Fondre, who scored 16 goals as Reading won promotion last season.

"It was important we didn't lose and if we're picking up points we can build on that.

"I remember Norwich were on a losing streak. But they built from one game and then went on to go 10 games unbeaten.

"We have to take a leaf out of their book."
