The Royals are yet to claim success over any team in the bottom five of the table this season as they fight for top-flight survival.

But 31-year-old McAnuff believes they can turn that around when they welcome fellow bottom-three dwellers Villa to the Madejski Stadium.

"It's something we're aware of and something that we're trying to put right," he told Sky Sports.

"Obviously we've got a chance to do that on Saturday.

"We've got a lot of experience in there, boys that have been around the place and know what's required.

"I'm sure, come Saturday, we'll all know what to do and be able to get the result."

A win for either Reading or Villa on Saturday would be enough to lift the victorious side out of the relegation zone at the expense of Wigan, who are in FA Cup action.

But McAnuff has played down talk of the clash being a relegation six-pointer.

He added: "They're in and around us at the bottom of the table and of course from that point of view people look at it from the outside and feel there's extra significance on the game. But there's three points to be won, it's not six points, and all we can do is go out and try and get the win."

hould have stayed because we carried him for 6.5 years. And then he has a breakthrough season, and was gone soon after. MU fans, you would be as disgusted had C Ronaldo left in 2007 and not 2009.

ood grief. Someone guessed that the form English player at the moment might be in his national side with some other players? And that's espionage? Now if they discovered that Emile Heskey was going to be in the starting line up.... at right back.... THAT would be espionage. Give it a rest Roy.
